Los discapacitados auditivos de Mijas reclaman un intérprete para sus gestiones

Vanesa López, presidenta de la Asociación de Personas Sordas de Mijas, en la sede de la agrupación.

La Asociación de Personas Sordas de Mijas (Asormijas), formada por 60 personas, cuya sede está en El Coto, reclama un intérprete, además de ayuda económica. Vanesa López, presidenta del colectivo desde 2009, expresa que la Junta de Andalucía había puesto un intérprete para las cinco asociaciones de la provincia (Málaga, Vélez, Ronda, Marbella y Mijas) a través de la Federación de Asociaciones de Sordos de Andalucía, pero desde hace un par de años ya no cuentan con ninguno, lo que hace «muy difícil integrarse en la sociedad». «La labor del intérprete es fundamental. Nos ayuda mucho en los trámites burocráticos complejos, médicos, policiales y judiciales», sostiene esta joven, que tiene un 65 por ciento de minusvalía.

«Si queremos un intérprete, nos dicen que hay que pagar dinero. No somos ricos», se lamenta López, quien asegura que lo ideal es «que en cada organismo haya una persona que hable el lenguaje de signos: en el ayuntamiento, en cada centro de salud, en la policía, en la guardia civil, etc». De los 60 integrantes de la asociación, quienes se sienten más desatendidos, según ella, «son los mayores. Hay 15 mayores de 60 años, a los que se les impide que vayan juntos de excursión en los viajes del Inserso: a los de Mijas por no estar empadronados en Fuengirola y a los de Fuengirola por no estarlo en Mijas. Ellos quieren ir juntos. Así pueden entenderse entre ellos y todo es más fácil. Y apenas se habla de nosotros. El Club Deportivo Sordo de Mijas ganó el 14 de mayo el Campeonato de Andalucía de Sordos de fútbol 7 en Córdoba», se queja esta luchadora, madre de cuatro hijos, divorciada y en paro.

 

López solicita a la edil de Bienestar Social, Mari Carmen Carmona, que pongan un intérprete al servicio de Asormijas. «Aún no conozco en persona a la concejala. El pasado 23 de mayo nos reunimos con tres técnicos municipales, pero ninguno conocía el lenguaje de signos, nos dieron un documento para pedir la subvención anual y solo hablaron del 3 de diciembre, Día de la Discapacidad. Además, se nos debe el 25 por ciento de la subvención de 7.000 euros de 2015. Los políticos no piensan en la comunidad sorda. El año pasado, la concejala Carmen Márquez nos dijo que iba a hablar con Diputación para ponernos un intérprete y aún estamos esperando». Márquez manifiesta al respecto: «Sé que necesitan un intérprete. El PP está dispuesto a llevar una moción al pleno, pero deben pedirlo de forma específica por escrito».

 

Por su parte, la concejala actual, Mari Carmen Carmona (C's), reconoce que «desde la Diputación se va a luchar por un intérprete. Sea por subvenciones generales o nominativas, se contratará un intérprete a través de la Federación Andaluza de Sordos. Todas las asociaciones que hayan justificado debidamente los gastos de 2015, cobrarán esta semana ese dinero que se les debe del año pasado».
